The man who introduced the world to Super Mario to the world has died at the age of 85.

Ex-Nintendo president Hiroshi Yamauchi - who revolutionised the video game industry - died of pneumonia at a hospital in Japan.

Yamauchi introduced the Nintendo Entertainment System to America in 1985, and launched some of the greatest games in history including Super Mario and Donkey Kong.

He was ranked the 13th richest man in Japan at the time of his death.
